In today's fast-paced world, managing medications can feel like performing complex surgery on your daily routine. Whether it's a busy professional juggling multiple prescriptions or an elderly patient struggling to remember dosage times, the need for a reliable medication management system is critical.

THE Diagnosis

THE Diagnosis
"John, a 65-year-old retiree, was managing high blood pressure and cholesterol. His health depended on taking his medications on time, but his memory wasn’t always reliable. Meanwhile, Emily, a busy college student, relied on medication for anxiety and depression, but between classes and assignments, she often forgot. Both John and Emily needed something more than just reminders—they needed a consistent way to track their meds and stay on top of their health."

knew when to refill their pills.

An initial questionnaire was circulated among different users to identify the daily challenges of those who rely on a consistent medication routine.
A key insight was that users wanted more than reminders, they needed notifications about when to refill and a quick way to input their medication details. Thus, enabling them to keep their health on track.

Pain points
Based on the user interviews, personas and the user journey maps these were the pain points that needed to be addressed while designing Pill-Pro.

I selected MediSafe and MyTherapy as direct competitors because they lead the medical reminder space, offering core features similar to Pill Pro, such as medication tracking and reminders. Things 3 and Apple Health were chosen as indirect competitors for their strong task management and health tracking capabilities, helping me explore broader user needs related to reminders and health management

The final design featured simple navigation, ensuring elderly users like John wouldn’t get lost. Emily, on the other hand, could quickly access mental health resources and medication reminders, helping her balance her college life with health care.
The final mockups went through another round of iteration when the desktop version was created and the desktop versioned seemed to be much better in terms of being simple and making the user feel comfortable with the colors and layout.
